This is the opportunity to come and say what you love and hate about the Pockthorpe community proposed ideas. We are calling it a wider community day, but I guess really it’s the council consultation.
The hub on Mousehold Ave is kindly letting us use their coffee shop. We will have display boards and a suggestion box.
There are two main projects. The Kett’s cave project, which we are doing with Matt Davies from the Norwich City council Fringe project. This is creating new steps down the slope at Kett’s cave, fixing old steps at Sandy park and removing the dangerous, broken wire fences. We need volunteers, please! Full training will be provided.
The second project is ‘Pockthorpe Garden’ proposed on 44-46 Morley St. We are thinking very similar to Grape’s hill and old library woods. A community garden that the local groups and schools can use for education and a relaxing garden for us local residents. Long term this will be managed by us the community, so again we need volunteers!
This community day is a legal requirement to make sure we have the wider communities agreement before we start anything. That doesn’t mean it can’t be fun though! We can hire outdoor play equipment from Lumi, set up face painting for the kids, teas and coffees, cakes etc. It’s our community day, so let’s make it fun! If event organising is your thing! Feel free to help.
